Has anyone done English, English lang and or Sociology together?

I haven't done them, as I'm only applying now but I would say English Lit is a good subject, however I have heard that English Lag is not particularly liked by uni's, unless you do Lit/Lang, in which case they don't mind. You just want to think; do you like the subjects, and would they be helpful towards uni courses or careers you would like to have?
